1. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 1
The No. 1 Japanese film of 2025. Over 40.2 billion yen at home and roughly 117.9 billion yen worldwide — numbers that rewrote Japan's box-office records. It opened in Japan on 2025-07-18 and in the US on 2025-09-12, runs 155 minutes, and carries an R rating in the US.
Japanese reviewers on Eiga.com keep returning to the same things: the density of the Infinity Castle visuals, Zenitsu's serious battle, Shinobu's desperate fight, and the Akaza backstory episode. Plenty of them knew the manga ahead and still say the theatre trip was worth it.
In the US, viewing options are generous. Crunchyroll has streamed it since 2026-07-28 (everywhere except Japan and mainland China, with subtitles plus the English dub from the US theatrical run). Digital purchase opened the same day — Prime Video, Fandango, Google Play, and YouTube sell it outright, while Apple TV alone also rents it. Netflix carries it only in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, not the US. No Hulu either, though the TV series sits there.
Japan is the mirror image. There is no subscription streaming, no rental, and no digital purchase — the disc is the only legal route. The Japanese Blu-ray and DVD arrived 2026-07-29, in a limited edition (storage box with new art, two bonus CDs, a bonus disc, and more) and a regular edition. But the subtitles are barrier-free Japanese only, with no English subtitles, so importing it for English viewing does not work.

The No. 4 Japanese film of 2025. It stopped Infinity Castle's nine-week run at No. 1 on its opening weekend and has earned 9.28 billion yen since. Tatsuya Yoshihara, the TV series' action director, directs for MAPPA, adapting the Reze arc — one of the manga's best-loved stretches — straight through.
Japanese reception runs high: 4.6 from 322 reviews on Eiga.com, 4.3 on Filmarks. Reviewers mention repeat viewings, the IMAX sound pressure, and the drop from the tender first-half romance into second-half destruction. Critic Atsushi Okamoto, writing for Real Sound, calls it fun that belongs in anime history.
Its English options came together earlier than Infinity Castle's. Digital purchase and rental started 2025-12-09, and Crunchyroll has streamed it since 2026-04-30 (everywhere except France and Japan, sub and dub). In the UK, purchase opened 2026-01-13 on Prime Video, YouTube, and Sky Store. The disc release date (DVD and Blu-ray) is unannounced — the same wait as Infinity Castle.
